Origins:
First found growing wild in East Asia spreading to Europe and North America in the 19th century.
Health Benefits:
High concentrations of manganese, vitamin C, fibre, foliate, vitamin B2, B3, potassium and magnesium. Also high in an antioxidant called ellagic acid, this helps to prevent unwanted damage to cell membranes and other structures in the body, it does this by neutralising free radicals. |
